3 Wheel Double Buggy

Seats

Most 3 wheel double buggies start life as single pushchairs. However, some can convert to take the seat of a second person or carrycot with adapters (these are more commonly found in tandem buggies). You’ll also find that some models allow you to add a ride-on board for older children who want to walk but require a little help.

For a light-weight option that’s great for urban streets, look into the Joie Evalite Duo. It’s easy to maneuver and comes with a large basket with lots of storage. It can accommodate twins as young as birth and accommodate two car seats or a carrycot and seat. The seats must face towards the front and there is no space to store a shopping bag under the seat. You will require an extra sidepack.

Mountain Buggy Duet will be a good option for you If you like off-road driving. It’s a side by side with the smallest footprint of any double buggy available on the market. It’s much easier to get through narrow doors, on public transport and to climb up and over kerbs. The adjustable handlebar has a handbrake for added safety and security.

The UPPAbaby vista 2 double is another lightweight option that can be used by twins or a baby and toddler. The seats have multi-position reclining and UPF 50+ sunshades, and the canopy can be adjusted to keep the sun from your child’s eyes. The Vista 2 can be converted into triple by adding UPPAbaby’s ‘PiggyBack’ board for older children.

The iCandy Orange double buggies are one of the most sought-after available. 3 wheeler pushchair is due to their outstanding comfort. It’s an all-terrain pushchair with soft suspension that is able to handle bumpy surfaces. The phil&teds dots are great single buggys that are easily modified to take two (or three!) in multiple configurations. This is particularly useful if you have a baby in your car. Suspension

The suspension of a double 3-wheel buggy will determine how easily you and your child/children can push it. It is essential to have a smooth ride, since babies feel every bump in the road. Folding

A 3 wheel double buggy can fold pretty neatly to store it. There are models that fold flat and stand up (as if they were in a pushchair) as well as those that pop open to reveal a more umbrella-like fold that has the option of a brake operated by hand. In general, the more wheels a buggy comes with the more comfortable it will be to navigate over rough terrain. This is especially true if the wheels are bigger than the average size. You will have more stability and it is less likely that you will be forced to flip or tip your child.

The iCandy Wave is a popular option. It can be used in conjunction with an infant car seat from birth and then transformed to a double buggy when your child is older. It’s a comfortable and light-feeling model that makes it simple to push, and it comes with extra features, including a bumper bar and raincover.

Another alternative is the phil&teds sport that is a future-proof model since it’s great as a single buggy right from the start and can be adapted to take 2 (or even three!) in its small footprint. It is a clever three-wheel design with a sling for greater maneuverability and stability.

It’s also designed to handle slightly rough terrain, making it a great option for family walks and all-terrain walks.

Other models, such as the UPPAbaby Vista 2, offer plenty of space and the possibility of transporting twins or two toddlers and a child. (This is made possible by their ‘PiggyBack board’). It’s the smallest side-by-side double available and it has some impressive technology that includes games-changing LED lights on both sides of the frame to ensure security in low-light conditions.
